Samal is part of the municipalities that comprises Bataan. It is a fourth class municipality with over 33,000 people.

To date, Samal remains as quiet and as peaceful as it was back in the day, unchanged by unrestrained commercialization and industrial development and undisturbed by pressures brought about by the current economic crisis.

Samal booms with farming products such as rice, corn, vegetable, fruits, rootcrops, coffee and cutflowers. Farm animals, poultry and marine resources such as shellfish, crabs, prawns, shrimps as well as diverse species of fish are also available in the area.
